Active from 1982 to 1993, The Tapes released over twenty cassettes on their own Industrial Tapes label before moving to legendary imprints like Minus Habens and Amen.

Their inclusion in the Strut compilation Mutazione: Italian Electronic & New Wave Underground 1980-1988 brought renewed attention to their primitive industrial minimalism. News From Nowhere marks a long-awaited return, with tracks like "Der Kindergarten" and "Gravity Zero" demonstrating that the brothers' approach - mutant synths, cold beats, distorted voices and metallic noise - remains uncompromised.
