Way Down
Originally released as a small run cassette in 1987, only to fall into tape label obscurity, Robert Turmans industrial genre-bending masterpiece album Way Down finally has been excavated for a proper vinyl reissue after twenty-three years in the shadows. This album solidifies Turman as a cut above the rest with respect to his talent and his natural ear for experimental composition. Turman first came onto the industrial scene in the late 70s as the ominous other half of legendary noise out…
Old News 7
The prolific experimenter known to friends and fans alike as Jim O’Rourke, is gearing up for the next installment of his vinyl series Old News, following last year’s sweet #5 and sweeter #6 . Each installment of the series provides a vinyl-only glimpse into O’Rourke’s electronic synth archive, This time around, we are gifted with tracks such as “Welcome to the Django,” a two-sided mid-90s excursion of O’Rourke’s first experiments with a Serge modular system, and “Tacere Fas,” the piece originall…

The Rubber Baron
few copies available, longtime sold out vicious and malignant collaboration between Dominick Fernow & Andy Ortmann, originally recorded in 2003. So dark, it is packaged in double sided black sleeves with black ink, also pressed on red vinyl. "My dear mum always said that I have "champagne taste on beer money".... Doh!!! It's all coming true with this reassuringly expensive Prurient / Panicsville split "The Rubber Baron". This beast comes on blood red 8"vinyl through the Rococo label. Housed in a…
Wrapped In The Flame Of Illusion, Masked In The Clay Of Behavior
Recorded within the bleak transitional period immediately prior to the sessions that would now become known as Bermuda Drain, Dominick Fernow sketched out four compositions which can only be framed as “ambient power electronics”. Some of Fernow’s most destitute works to date, this release captures Prurient at its most vulnerable and sedate, reflective and rapt. Compositions that throw away that past decade of experience, only to start at the foundation of his art. Uniquely different from anythin…
Electronic Works 3
Morton Subotnick's electronic works: the first CD and surround release of the quadrophonic tape piece Four Butterflies, and Until Spring: Revisited, a live recomposition of his 1975 Buchla work. The DVD adds A Sky of Cloudless Sulphur: Revisited.
Music in Twelve Parts
A milestone! Music in Twelve Parts, written by Philip Glass between 1971 and 1974, is a deliberate, encyclopedic compendium of some techniques of repetition the composer had been evolving since the mid 1960s. It holds an important place in Glass's repertory - not only from a historical vantage point (as the longest and most ambitious concert piece for the Philip Glass Ensemble) but from a purely aesthetic standard as well, because Music in Twelve Parts is both a massive theoretical exercis…
Wake Up Angels
Live recordings from Sun Ra Solar-Myth and Intergalactic Arkestras performing live at the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival from 1972-74, well-recorded and great performances in this first issue of these great concerts.  "Recorded live at the Ann Arbor Blues And Jazz Festival 1972-73-74. The classic big band with a full complement of singers, Tracks 1 -10 (1972) feature the great "Space is the Place Suite". After the first few minutes the sound is surprisingly good with great drums throughout; cry…

Aleph
In his liner notes to Aleph, Terry Riley explains that the work was created as "an improvised meditation on the various meanings of this supreme emanation from the Hebrew alphabet." It was made using a Korg Triton Studio 88 synth with his own sound design, and employing a just intonation scale used by Lou Harrison on his last work, "Nek Chand for Just Intonation National Steel Guitar," which was performed by Riley's son Gyan on the album Serenado. Riley has been using the scale for some time. Th…
Unreleased?
Rune Grammofon are delighted to present the second album from this excellent Swedish trio, something of a supergroup with members from already well-known projects. This time they collaborate with the legendary Jim O'Rourke. With their hypnotic, psychedelic jazz of sorts, they have carved out a different sound than any of the groups they are normally associated with, now enhanced by the vital contributions from O'Rourke. Sax player, improviser, composer and fervent record collector, Mats …
Dash
Dash' is just over eight minutes long, and it's forty-three tracks. If you've heard the band before then you might know what this means - short hyperactive bursts of the finest extreme noise punk the world has likely ever witnessed. And I don't say that lightly, noise punk that is; there are instruments or at least there were, at some point, but these are chiselled away by hellish jackhammer beats and electrical blasts. It is telling that Lasse Marhaug joins the core duo of John Wiese and …
Rip
Recorded up and down the West Coast by JESSE JACKSON, CORYDON RONNAU, and JOHN WIESE and featuring appearances by YELLOW SWANS, PETER KOLOVOS (OPEN CITY) and PAUL COSTUROS (DEATH SENTENCE: PANDA!). Studio and live recordings with concrète witcery.
Freaked With Jet
No guitars and fuck two-second gaps. A collection of six 7"s (Gutter Splint, Fortune b/w The Eyes Of Men, Epistasis, Vacuum, Vanishing Point, and the split with Agathocles). Performed by CHARLIE MUMMA, CORYDON RONNAU, JOHN WIESE. The only band to make a Milton and a Mentors reference on the same album. Typically I think noisecore is best in small blasts, but for those who can't find or play the records, this collection is still pretty terse, don't worry.
Grisp
Running the gamut of improv, concrète, industrial tape music, and cut-up sounds. Featuring appearances by MITCHELL BROWN (GASP), AARON HEMPHILL (LIARS), PETER KOLOVOS (OPEN CITY), RICK POTTS (LAFMS, SOLID EYE, AIRWAY), and source material by SMEGMA and the HATERS. Partially collects material from the Beat (777 Was 666), Grisp, and DDT (Chondritic Sound) cassettes. For those that say things like, "I don't really listen to CDs"—you're totally lame.
The Dossier Years
After leaving Subterranean Records, Z' ev moved on to the fabulous German label Dossier for his next two albums. "Schönste Muziek" and "Bust This!" were released in 1986/1988 and bring you the classical Z'ev percussion sound. Rarely has he been more innovative and more experimental in his work, a great variety of sounds is being created out of all kinds of percussion instruments. On this CD re-issue, both these albums have been carefully remastered. Possibly a perfect starting point if you want …
Replica
Copies from copies of copies upon copies to copies through copies on copies of more copies. Daniel Lopatin was but a babe in the early '80s - the global time frame which stands central to his Oneohtrix Point Never project, where Russian TV advertisements, faded slow-jam hits, and forgotten futures all get misinterpreted, rewired, and misremembered through an android dream. Much of his past work revolved around the step sequencing and ambient swoosh that filtered through the kosmische aes…
EyEar
A singular document. EyEar presents, for the first time, the visual dimension of Z'EV's practice - a body of work that had, until this release, remained inseparable from the live event, resistant to any fixed form. Born Stefan Joel Weisser in Los Angeles in 1951, Z'EV stands as one of the most uncompromising figures in the history of experimental and industrial music. From his first solo percussion performances in San Francisco in the late 1970s - deploying self-constructed instruments assembled…
Decimus 9
Lucky restock, very last copies! *300 copies limited release* Seventh in a on-going series of twelve electronic meditations on the zodiac of Decimus Magnus Ausonius (310-395) as played by Pat Murano of No Neck Blues Band, K Salvatore, Malkuth and Key of Shame. This one is for sure the creepiest and most disturbing chapter of the series so far, with swathes of electronics melting with the highest tones of misterious lullabies from somewhere far away, keeping the listeners ear firmly at ground leve…
Seven Compositions (Trio) 1989
"The great avant-garde reed player Anthony Braxton (who on this set switches between alto, C-melody sax, clarinet, flute, soprano and sopranino), bassist Adelhard Roidinger and drummer Tony Oxley play five of Braxton's complex originals, Oxley's "The Angular Apron" and the standard "All the Things You Are." As usual Braxton's improvising is quite advanced and original but is colorful and fiery enough to always hold on to open-eared listener's attention. This is one of literally dozens of …
