Northern Resonance I
In the winter of 2008 C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core) and Jon Wesseltoft (Tongues of Mount Meru, Maranata) would meet in Wesseltoft's native Norway to record the tracks, which comprise this tape. With Yeh on violin and Wesseltoft on harmonium the duo blazes through the northern sky unleashing a meditative eulogy to the Nordic gods of past, present and future. here are two pieces from august 2008 ; built from “playthroughs” -style guitar / synthesizer / computer improvisations recorded april 2008 ; (time crawls when you live in a bubble) ...the “side 1” half is the tail-end of said improv, run through a low-pass filter taking its cut-off frequency from the relative “loudness” of the audio (i.e. the louder it gets, the more high-end it let through) - a nice & simple piece that turned out well (there’s even a bit of “dry” guitar playing at the end there…

Has done a bunch of tapes & singles for Florida is Dying, Hozac, & Jerkwave. A more minimal, darker, atmospheric vibe prevails here that hints a bit more towards loner psychedelic guitar & improv than any prior recordings have. Still present is the punchy, noisy psychedelic synth punk, but its fused w/ an almost otherworldy sound, something really eclectic & unknown.

De Leeuwerik 1979
1979 performance of Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, Steven Taylor and Harry Hoogstraten recorded live at De Leeuwerik, a small bar in Eindhoven (Holland). Everyone takes turn reading poems and singing songs accompanied by harmonium, percussion and guitar. The set starts with Ginsberg’s ‘Plutonian Ode’ and ends with a wasted ‘Copulation Blues’.
