*Limited Edition* Really striking work from Japanese guitarist Masayuki Takayanagi, a set that's not entirely "angry", but which has a bold quality that instantly marks Takayanagi as one of the more powerful stylists on his instrument at the time! There's a sharp-edged approach to the guitar that's not far from the experiments of Sonny Sharrock during the same period yet Masayuki never just uses noise for noise's sake as throughout, he balances his performance well with the bass of Nobuyoshi Ino and percussion and drums of Hiroshi Yamazaki in a way that maybe makes the whole thing feel like a freer, fuzzier take on older guitar trio modes. Titles are all numbered variations of the album's name four selections in all!
