The Virgin double album that introduced Ennio Morricone to a generation of British and American listeners in the late eighties: two discs spanning twenty years of themes, from the Leone westerns through Sacco e Vanzetti, Novecento, Il prato, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission and The Untouchables. It came out when Morricone was suddenly fashionable in the pop world (Morrissey (!), the Pet Shop Boys (!)) and it was the record they were talking about.
As a survey it is well chosen and the mastering is good. UK Virgin pressing, VD series, gatefold.
