Janus looks two ways, and so does this disc. Fifteen of its eighteen tracks form a single Flower Suite, recorded on 14 November 2002 at Tippevangen Studio. The last three, The Andalusian House, Make A Buck and Road Tax, come from a session at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's Studio 3 the following May, six months later.
Hugh Steinmetz, one of the first Danish musicians to play free jazz in the 1960s, leads on trumpet and wrote all the music. His alto partner is Luther Thomas, a veteran of St. Louis's Black Artists' Group and of Defunkt who had settled in Denmark, with Nils Davidsen on bass and Ole Rømer on drums. CIM Records released it in 2003.
