A dance of the Beghards, a procession of flagellants, a conference of forest spirits: the titles on this LP come from medieval Europe and from fairy tales. Theo Jörgensmann is the only musician credited, on clarinet and basset horn, and he recorded it in October 1981 in Wanne-Eickel, in the Ruhr: free jazz and improvisation for a solo woodwind.

Four of the six pieces are his, including Tanz Der Begharen and Zug Der Geisler; the other two, Maja Im Märchenwald and Ein Kühler Februar, are by the saxophonist Ulrich Lask. Jörgensmann co-produced it with Kurt Renker for CMP Records.
