Art Moderna Cha Cha Cha lasts two minutes and thirteen seconds and has a guest on maracas. The rest of this 1986 trio record on nato, the French label of producer Jean Rochard, keeps a similar sense of proportion: eleven pieces, most of them under four minutes, with titles like The Cello Lies Forlorn and Il Signore Fregoli.
Raymond Boni plays guitar (the credits also list dance). Max Eastley, a sound sculptor as much as a musician, brings the musical bow, a guitaret and an automatic instrument. Terry Day, drummer of the People Band in the late 1960s, covers drums, harmonium, saxophones, flutes and a Yamaha DX7, and sings. Daniel Deshays recorded the sessions that year at Villedieu, near Chantenay.
