condition (record/cover): NM/NM Gatefold sleeve with original innersleeves. The sound of the Italian avant-garde 1909-1935! First edition on Multhipla Records, Gianni Sassi's label dedicated to avant-garde music and performance. Music and words from the Italian Futurist movement, featuring original recordings and contemporary performances. Luigi Russolo's Esempi Sonori documents his revolutionary Intonarumori (noise intoners) – mechanical noise-generators that realized his manifesto L'Arte dei Rumori (The Art of Noises, 1913). Includes the legendary fragment Risveglio di una città (The Awakening of a City), a 30-second symphony of engine-like sounds celebrating the Futurist passion for machines and metropolis.

F.T. Marinetti's Cinque Sintesi Radiofoniche captures the founder's visionary radio experiments. Musical works by Francesco Balilla Pratella (La Guerra), Luigi Grandi, Silvio Mix, Franco Casavola, Aldo Giuntini, and Alfredo Casella performed by Daniele Lombardi, Italy's leading interpreter of Futurist music. Daniele Napoletano's Estratti Musicali offers contemporary readings of Futurist texts.
