condition (record/cover): NM / NM Insert included. | This collection includes three distinct compositions spanning Luigi Nono’s development from solo electronic tape to complex orchestral and vocal writing. Canti di vita e d'amore: Sul ponte di Hiroshima (1962): A vocal and orchestral work for solo soprano, solo tenor, and orchestra. It utilizes texts by authors such as Günther Anders, Jesus López Pacheco, and Cesare Pavese to reflect on the Hiroshima bombing and themes of love and war. Per Bastiana – Tai-Yang Cheng (1967): A work composed for magnetic tape and an orchestra divided into three groups. It is notable for its use of the Chinese revolutionary song "The East is Red" (Tai-Yang Cheng), which Nono integrates into a rigorous chromatic and microtonal structure. Omaggio a Emilio Vedova (1960): Nono’s first purely electronic composition, created for magnetic tape. It was realized at the Studio di Fonologia della RAI in Milan and dedicated to his friend, the Venetian painter Emilio Vedova.
