Sorry For Laughing is a project by Gordon H. Whitlow who is also a member of legendary US avantgarde collective Biota, formerly Mnemonists or Mnemonist Orchestra. Their music is a mixture of modern classical, experimental sounds, noise, industrial, avangarde, songwriting and free jazz. In 1986 Gordon H. Whitlow released a cassette under the name Sorry For Laughing: "The compositions stem from my beginning days with the avant-garde recording ensemble Biota, shortly after completion of the Bellowing Room LP."

The album was re-issued on CD by Klanggalerie in 2018 and is still available. Recently, Gordon reactivated the project and changed it from a solo effort into a new supergroup featuring Edward Ka-Spel and Patrick Q. Wright of Legendary Pink Dots, Martyn Bates and Elizabeth S. from Eyeless in Gaza, Janet Feder, and more recently Dave-id, formerly of Virgin Prunes who is the main collaborator on this new album. Gordon Whitlow describes it like this: "Thematically, in my mind, it deals with mortality, love, and searching (especially an inner searching for peace). I consider it a sort of existential opera or tale, alternately fatalistic and hopeful. A very human story, where the "everyman" is buffeted by things beyond his immediate control, placing him/her on a continuum of circumstances, on a stormy sea. The musical framework is atmospheric and abrasive, sometimes tranquil, with elements of collage and musique-concrete. It's certainly the most introspective thing I think Dave-id's ever done. Sometimes heartbreaking."

Musically, this new album still showcases the SFL sound but in a more fragmentary way. Let yourselves be surprised.
