**200 copies** Éric La Casa probes his inner sound environment through the recording of his Parisian apartment, an artist's studio and the empty spaces of a museum.

For more than 20 years, while listening to the environment, Éric La Casa (born 1968, Tours, lives and works in Paris) has been questioning the perception of reality and has expanded the notion of what's musical today. Through his aesthetic of capturing sound, his work fits equally into the fields of sound art and music. As a result of his in situ listening processes, he creates forms (of attention) that creep into the venues, slowly infuse there, and become other possible spaces. In the same way that the letter stimulates a country's reading, the in situ aesthetic object renews our relationship to space and landscape.

"I spend more time inside than outside. In Paris, my existence is organised in the interior volumes of anthropocentric architecture: the apartment, the shop, the Métro, the café, the library, the cinema, etc. I spend more time indoors than outdoors. All the buildings I frequent constitute my personal ecosystem of the city, a world in itself. Sheltered, maybe even removed from the outside world, each architectural space encloses, on a small human scale, a part of reality. What is this reality made of, this reality that conditions my life inside? What relationships do I have with this reality, with these interior environments?

I examine this interior world, its materiality, its acoustics, its furniture, its inhabitants, and so forth. Over the years, my exploration of the fullness and emptiness of these spaces has led me ever further into the liminal sonic dimension of everyday life. From the overt to the inaudible, I experiment with its dimensions, repel its indeterminacy. - Éric La Casa

Notes:
Interiors by Eric La Casa What characterises my inner sound environment? What relationships do I have with reality, inside? To answer these questions, I have chosen three striking interiors from the last ten years. Firstly, in my apartment, following Paris. I highlighted liminal phenomena, making them events in their own right, bringing them out of the inaudible. Then, in an artist's studio, behind closed doors, I followed her painting process to attempt to grasp the persistence and resonance of her creative gesture. Finally, in a museum, I amplified the background air-conditioning of the empty spaces to render audible the specific qualities of this monumental architecture, dedicated to the containment of its collection.
