Two symphonies composed in 1949 and 1964 released in 1972 on Philips' "Trésors Classiques" series.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM Gatefold sleeve.  Pierick Houdy emerges with La Messe Québécoise Pour Voix, Violon, Cuillers, Contrebasse Et Orgue on Arion, a title that announces its folk-sacred hybrid in the instrumentation itself. Spoons alongside organ, double bass alongside voice: the vernacular and the liturgical refusing to separate.

Houdy's Quebec Mass belongs to a tradition of composers seeking authentic regional expression rather than Parisian sophistication. The spoons aren't folkloristic decoration; they're structural, rhythmic backbone for music that breathes differently than conservatory products. Arion's release preserves a document of Francophone Catholic culture outside France, proof that musique sacrée traveled and transformed in transit.
