Ten Temperaments was commissioned from Ragnar Grippe by the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation and recorded in November 1981 at EMI Studio II in Stockholm. Twelve short sections of slow electronic harmony and synthetic textures, closer to a suite of moods than to the studio abstraction of the period, it was first issued on LP that year.
The CD adds two earlier works from his LP of electronic compositions: Situation I, and Ur undrens tid, where the voice of Margareta Stevenson narrates over the tape. Seventy-four minutes in all. This is the 1994 BIS reissue.
