The Hellenic Weeks of Contemporary Music were held in Athens from 1966 and gave Greek composers a stage for new works. This record gathers four pieces from the first two editions. Yannis A. Papaioannou's Eros anikate machan (1965) sets lines from Sophocles' Antigone for choir, and Michael Adamis's Apocalypse, 6th Seal (1967) adds narrator and tape to five vocal groups.
Theodore Antoniou's Six Likes (1967) for solo tuba is a suite of six character pieces, from a march to a murmur, and Nikos Mamangakis's Trittys (1966) mixes guitar and santouri with percussion and low strings. A later pressing of the first LP of the set, on His Master's Voice.
