Five LPs issued by EMI Greece in 1973 from the first, second and fourth Hellenic Weeks of Contemporary Music in Athens, held between 1966 and 1971, the festival that brought the Greek avant-garde and its émigrés into one programme. Iannis Xenakis (Anaktoria), Anestis Logothetis, Georges Aperghis, Michael Adamis, Nikos Mamangakis, Yannis A. Papaioannou and Dimitri Terzakis are among the composers, with two quartets for piano and winds by Nikos Skalkottas.
Many pieces were commissioned by the festival and several were world premieres, from Adamis's works for choir, cantor and tape to the electronic piece by Stephanos Vassiliadis. Theodore Antoniou conducts the Hellenic Group of Contemporary Music. Each record has its own picture sleeve, in the white box.
