1979 French re-issue on Freedom of the 1964 album originally titled My Name Is Albert Ayler. With original innersleeve.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

With original innersleeve.

Copenhagen, January 1963, a Danish Radio studio, and a twenty-six year old American saxophonist playing standards with a local rhythm section that clearly has no idea what is about to happen. This is Albert Ayler at the very beginning, before Sunny Murray, before ESP-Disk, before the myth. He works through familiar material with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen on bass and a scrupulously polite piano trio behind him, and the contrast is the entire drama of the record: the rhythm section keeps the changes, Ayler ignores them completely and plays that huge vibrato-drenched tone straight through the middle of everything. Originally issued in Denmark as My Name Is Albert Ayler.

French Freedom / Vogue edition of the first Ayler session ever recorded. The document of the exact moment the ground started moving.
