The one. Albert Ayler, Gary Peacock, Sunny Murray, New York, July 1964 - the first proper release on ESP-Disk' and the record that made the label's reputation forever. Thirty minutes that changed everything that came after: "Ghosts" in two versions, "The Wizard", "Spirits". The trio operates at a level of collective listening that still sounds impossible sixty years later - no chords, no stated time, and yet total unity, exactly as the title promises. If a single record defines free jazz, this is a very strong candidate, and plenty of serious people would say the strongest. Japanese ESP-Disk' pressing, beautifully done. A record to own in every pressing you can find, honestly.
