condition (record/cover): NM / NM |Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Kontakte (1959–60) is a seminal work for electronic sounds, piano, and percussion. This recording is a landmark performance of the "concert version". It is composed in "moment form," where each section is immediately intense and exists independently of a traditional climaxand it is noted for its "sound-metamorphosis," where electronic tones seamlessly transition into instrumental sounds like wood, skin, and metal. This specific Wergo recording (captured in 1960) captures the original interpreters who premiered the work in Cologne.
