What happens when you bring together not just two but THREE of the strangest bands ever (Kulkija, Uton, Eyes Like Saucers), allowing them to record by their own (lack of) rules an album that sounds about like nothing else that's ever been recorded?  Well, Kristallvirta would be it--and while moments DO sound like an even more far-out Angus MacLise, that's where about any comparison ends.  To be certain, this is among the most challenging releases on the label; certainly not for beginners of any of the bands involved, but rewarding to those who recognize there is an outer-margin to where music is today, and draw the same satisfaction that I do from hearing half-crazed (fully crazed?) musicians trying to push those margins. All of the sounds herein are from a nearly-accidental meeting during the bands' respective tours; fully noted by Jeff K. in the liner notes (who has spoken to us through his liner notes before, both in the els solo recording, and the Invisible Pyramid box.
