WPH

Wph is the alias of Melbourne guitarist/sound artist Nathan Pilch. With his self titled debut offering for Nice Music, Pilch specialises in spatially organised, low dynamics cycles in high fidelity, using just the guitar. Expertly rendered shimmer and drift is captured as if bottled from a constant stream with no discernable beginning or end. These sounds are massive and environmental if the listener allows them close enough - a compelling, obscured topography of colourfully heathered landscape. A release as inventive as it is inexplicably humanistic. For fans of Loren Connors, Thomas Koner.
