Swiss, not German, and new age rather than krautrock, but a familiar kind of border-crosser for a sale like this. Andreas Vollenweider plays an electrically modified harp, an instrument largely of his own devising, and in the early 1980s he turned it into one of the most commercially successful sounds in the wider ambient marketplace. Caverna Magica (1983, CBS) is gentle, watery, cinematic music, harp threaded through synthesizer, percussion, and field recordings into a kind of pastoral fantasy.
Far from the cosmic underground, but adjacent to it through a shared faith in texture and mood. The CBS pressing.
