1972 Italian edition on CBS of the complete beautiful and ground-breaking electronic soundtrack (different from the original soundtrack including the orchestral pieces) to one of the greatest films ever made, A Clockwork Orange.

condition (record/cover): NM /  EX

Stanley Kubrick heard Switched-On Bach and wanted Carlos for the film. The CBS European pressing (S 65048) is the Italian-titled soundtrack album: Moog settings of Beethoven's Ninth, Rossini's William Tell and Thieving Magpie, and Purcell's Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary, plus the originals Timesteps and Title Music.

Not identical to the film audio: Timesteps, a thirteen-minute original Carlos and Elkind had written before Burgess's novel was acquired, appears here at full length (Kubrick used a shorter edit). The Title Music is a vocoder treatment of Purcell. Elkind's vocoder soprano on the Ode to Joy, one of the first commercial uses of the Bode/Moog vocoder, is the album's signature sound. Glossy black sleeve with Italian title on spine. The US release was on Warner Bros. (BS 2573).
