Two intriguing late 1980's pieces respectively for voice and instruments and a symphonic tale with memorized sounds released on Mode in 2002.

condition (disc/cover): M / M (still sealed) The Mode release pairing Chansons Pour Le Corps and Et Si Tout Entière Maintenant reveals Ferrari in explicitly erotic mode, which is to say, in his most characteristic mode. These are not abstract études but sonic love letters, works where the female voice becomes landscape, architecture, weather system. Ferrari never pretended that electroacoustic music existed outside the body. His work insists that listening is physical, that the ear is an erogenous zone.

Eliane Radigue would explore similar intimacies through different means; Bernard Parmegiani would maintain a more classical distance. Ferrari alone had the audacity to make desire itself the compositional principle. These pieces from the 1990s and 2000s show a composer in his seventies still chasing the same obsessions that animated his youth, undiminished, unashamed.
