A rare collaboration, Visitation unites French turntablist eRikm and electroacoustic pioneer Luc Ferrari for a masterclass in musique concrète and sonic collage, echoing the legacy of Pierre Schaeffer.

Edition limited to 350 copies. Visitation is a landmark in the field of electroacoustic music, bringing together two generations of French sonic innovators. eRikm, renowned for his radical turntablism and collaborations with Christian Marclay and Otomo Yoshihide, here engages in a creative dialogue with the late Luc Ferrari, a founding figure of musique concrète and a collaborator of Pierre Schaeffer and François Bayle.

The album is a masterclass in sonic collage, blending field recordings, electronics, and manipulated found sounds into a narrative that is both abstract and deeply evocative. Ferrari’s influence is felt in the meticulous attention to detail and the poetic use of everyday sounds, while eRikm’s contributions bring a sense of immediacy and risk. Visitation is essential listening for fans of INA-GRM, Christian Marclay, and the global tradition of experimental sound art—a meeting of minds that expands the vocabulary of contemporary music.

Here is eRikm's direct testimony about this work: "When the sun set on April 1st, 2011 I heard through the windows of my house the repetitive song of a night bird. Madeleine brought me immediately back to Luc Ferrari¹s electroacoustic piece Presque Rien N° 2. I became curious about comparing the bird that was officiating in the garden of Cap15 (in the North area of Marseille) with the bird of Presque Rien. My curiosity triggered the desire to play Luc's piece in the acoustic space of my house. With my rudimentary recorder I moved inside and outside the house, moving back and forth between both spaces. I played with the depth of field, the beat between these two birds separated by 34 years, and immersed myself in these acoustic events. This Ursprung or temporal Klein bottle was recorded and edited in one single sequence shot.
