Papiro, Sonic Boom

Two worlds collide on Just a Little Piece of Me / Dream Journal (for Udo), a rare 7" collaboration between Swiss analog synthesist Papiro and UK psychedelic pioneer Sonic Boom (Peter Kember of Spacemen 3 and Spectrum). The A-side, “Just a Little Piece of Me,” is a gentle, hypnotic journey where shimmering synths and softly undulating melodies blend, reflecting both artists’ devotion to analog warmth and melodic subtlety. The track’s slow build and understated beauty evoke a sense of suspended time, inviting listeners into a meditative soundscape.

On the B-side, “Dream Journal (for Udo),” the duo explores even more introspective territory. Here, spectral tones and delicate pulses conjure the liminal state between sleep and waking, with fleeting melodies drifting in and out of focus. The analog textures are lush yet fragile, and the interplay between the two artists is marked by a shared sensitivity to nuance and atmosphere.

This limited-edition 7" stands as a testament to the creative possibilities of collaboration across generations and genres. Both tracks are imbued with a sense of wonder and intimacy, making this release a highlight for fans of experimental pop, analog electronics, and the ever-evolving Planam catalogue.
