Decimus

With Decimus 4, Decimus—the solo project of Pat Murano, a founding member of the legendary No-Neck Blues Band—pushes further into the territory of ritual electronics and immersive soundscapes. Murano’s work as Decimus is a bridge between the New York improvisational underground and the dark, trance-inducing atmospheres of artists like Coil, Cluster, and Tangerine Dream.

On this LP, analog synths spiral and pulse, weaving dense layers of sound that evoke both ancient ceremonies and futuristic visions. The influence of the kosmische tradition is palpable, but Murano’s approach is rawer and more personal, channeling the improvisational ethos of the No-Neck Blues Band while embracing the hypnotic repetition of minimalism.

Decimus 4 stands as a testament to the ongoing vitality of experimental electronics, appealing to fans of Nurse With Wound, Ash Ra Tempel, and the more esoteric corners of the modern synth underground.
