Fundacja Słuchaj proudly announces the release of Choreography of Fractures, a searing new album from the powerhouse trio of bassist John Edwards, trumpeter Luis Vicente, and drummer Vasco Trilla. This recording captures the unbridled intensity of live improvisation, where fractures in sound become portals to profound musical discovery.
In Choreography of Fractures, Edwards, Vicente, and Trilla forge a sonic landscape that dances on the edge of chaos and control. Edwards' thunderous double bass lines propel the music with visceral drive, anchoring Vicente's piercing, emotive trumpet explorations and Trilla's kinetic percussion webs. Together, they craft a choreography of sound—fractured, fluid, and fiercely alive—drawing from the deep wells of European free improvisation while pushing boundaries into uncharted territory.
Recorded live in an intimate setting, Choreography of Fractures clocks in at almost 50 minutes of uninterrupted dialogue across four extended tracks. From the rumbling tectonic shifts of the opener to the ethereal dissipations of the closer, the album embodies the trio's philosophy: fractures aren't breaks, but breakthroughs.
