Joe Morris, Tyshawn Sorey, Peter Evans

Fundacja Słuchaj announces the release of Comprehensive, a riveting new album from the powerhouse trio of Joe Morris (guitar), Tyshawn Sorey (drums), and Peter Evans (trumpet). This recording captures the essence of fearless improvisation, where structural precision meets boundless creativity.

In Comprehensive, three of contemporary music's most visionary artists converge for a telepathic exploration of rhythm, timbre, and form. Joe Morris wields his guitar as a sonic architect, crafting intricate polyrhythms and textural webs. Tyshawn Sorey, ever the polymath, drives the ensemble with propulsive drums and subtle multi-instrumental flourishes, his compositions blurring lines between jazz, classical, and avant-garde. Peter Evans unleashes a trumpet tour de force—fiery extended techniques, split-tones, and lyrical invention that redefine the instrument's possibilities.

Recorded live in an intimate setting, the album unfolds across dynamic tracks that balance ferocity and finesse. From jagged, high-velocity dialogues to haunting, minimalist interludes, Comprehensive exemplifies the trio's rare chemistry: a conversation without words, where every gesture sparks revelation. This is music that demands—and rewards—active listening, pushing the boundaries of what the guitar-trumpet-drums format can achieve.
