Agustí Fernández, Artur Majewski, Albert Cirera, Ramon Prats

Fundacja Słuchaj proudly announces the release of SOM-HI!, a breathtaking new album capturing the raw, telepathic interplay of four European free jazz visionaries: pianist Agustí Fernández, trumpeter Artur Majewski, saxophonist Albert Cirera, and drummer Ramon Prats. This recording erupts with the unbridled joy and ferocity of spontaneous creation, pushing the boundaries of improvisation into exhilarating new territory.

Recorded live in Barcelona, SOM-HI! distills the quartet's collective fire into six extended tracks that blend ferocious energy with moments of crystalline lyricism. Fernández's prepared piano erupts in percussive storms and delicate filigrees, locked in symbiotic dialogue with Majewski's soaring, effects-laden trumpet lines. Cirera's tenor and soprano saxophones carve urgent narratives through the maelstrom, while Prats' masterful drumming anchors the chaos with propulsive swing and textural depth. The result is a high-wire act of collective invention – urgent, celebratory, and profoundly human.

Hailing from the vanguard of contemporary European improvisation, these artists bring storied pedigrees: Fernández, a Catalan piano titan known for collaborations with Barry Guy and Mats Gustafsson; Majewski, the Polish trumpet innovator behind searing duo work with Raphael Rogiński; Cirera, a Barcelona firebrand who's lit up projects with Paal Nilssen-Love and Olle Steinholtz; and Prats, the rhythmic engine driving Agustí Charles ensembles and beyond. Together, they forge a transcontinental sound that's both timeless and urgently now – a rallying cry for freedom in sound.
