Munich, Studio Meilhaus, 6 November 1990. Archie Shepp on tenor and alto, singing on three tracks, with Horace Parlan on piano, Wayne Dockery on bass and George Brown on drums. One day of work for the Dutch label Timeless, released the following year.

Shepp and Parlan had recorded the spirituals of Goin' Home and the blues of Trouble in Mind as a duo for SteepleChase in the late 1970s. This quartet session comes out of the same relationship, a decade on, and the material tells you where Shepp was by 1990: Ellington's title tune, Tadd Dameron's Hot House, Charlie Parker's Now's the Time, Monk's Ask Me Now played as a duet with Parlan, the traditional Go Down Moses (Let My People Go), and a couple of Shepp originals.

AllMusic's Scott Yanow calls it a strong effort and picks the Monk duet as the highlight, along with Go Down Moses for Shepp's baritone voice and his saxophone solo, while finding the vocal on The Good Life only average. Dusty Groove ranks the record with Shepp's straight-ahead classics of the late 1970s and calls it an overlooked one from the start of the 1990s. Music On Vinyl gave it a first LP pressing in 2023.
