Nino Rota's score for Fellini's La dolce vita (1960) hardly needs describing: the Via Veneto lounge themes, the circus melancholy, the Pérez Prado cha-cha Patricia folded into the score, the whole sound of Roman decadence at the moment it became a global fantasy. Rota wrote it in a few weeks, as he wrote everything, and it has never gone out of print.
This is a later RCA edition on the Vinilo series, clean and well pressed. For the shelf, next to the Ferrio and the Martelli, as the record that made the Via Veneto a genre.
