*Limited Edition* Pianist Takashi Kako has one of the most unique approaches to his instrument we've ever heard especially in a setting like this, which is more improvised music than straight jazz! Unlike some of the more dynamic pianists of that scene in the 70s, Takashi handles his instrument with this subtle sense of sound, even when free lyrical at times, and always somewhat poetic as he paints in space and color with a wonderfully abstract approach. These qualities are all supported with beautiful work from a quartet lineup that features Keiki Midorikawa on bass and cello, Masahiko Togashi on percussion, and Masami Nakagawa on alto and flute – and on one track, Kenji Murata joins in on voice. Titles include "Legend Of The Sea Myself", "Ants", "Naissance", and "Inori".
