A landmark collection of orchestral works by the Italian avant-garde composer Luciano Berio. Released in 1976 on the RCA Red Seal label, it features the following works: Nones (1954): A serialist orchestral work inspired by a poem by W.H. Auden. Performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Luciano Berio. Allelujah II (1958): A complex, spatial composition for five instrumental groups. It is conducted jointly by Luciano Berio and Pierre Boulez with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Concerto for Two Pianos (1973): Featuring piano soloists Bruno Canino and Antonio Ballista with the London Symphony Orchestra under Berio’s direction. The album is highly regarded as a definitive document of Berio's orchestral language, capturing his evolution from total serialism to the virtuosic, large-scale structures of his later career.
