Three early classics of electronic music on one LP. Visage (1961), made by Luciano Berio at the Studio di Fonologia in Milan, sets the voice of Cathy Berberian against electronic sounds, her laughter, sobs and invented speech moving through a whole emotional range without a single real word except the Italian parole.
John Cage realised Fontana Mix in the same Milan studio in 1958, splicing tape according to a system of transparent sheets. Agony, by the Turkish-born Ilhan Mimaroglu, is a dense, dark tape piece from 1965. Originally issued in the US in 1966, this is the UK edition of the Turnabout LP.
