Drumming; Music For Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ; Six Pianos is the Deutsche Grammophon set of 1974, recorded at the Polydor Studios in Hamburg that January by Steve Reich and Musicians, with Cornelius Cardew on glockenspiel in the final part. It was the first time a box set had been given to a minimalist composer. This edition has been remastered and edited from the original four-track tapes for the first time, cut all-analogue at Emil Berliner Studios and pressed at Pallas, in a reproduction of the original box with a 32-page booklet: Reich's own notes, session photographs, facsimiles of the recording logs and tape sleeves, an essay by former DG executive David Butchart drawn from Reich's correspondence with his producer, and a second text by Rainer Maillard on the state of the tapes and the cutting. There was a vinyl reissue in 2016; this is a different transfer.

Recordings on ECM gathers the three albums Reich made for the label between 1978 and 1982, on vinyl in one set for the first time. Music for 18 Musicians took two years to write and another two to reach release, and it is the record most people mean when they name a Reich piece. Octet / Music for a Large Ensemble / Violin Phase (1980) reaches back to 1967 on its last side. Tehillim (1982) sets Hebrew psalms and is where melody returns to his writing. Facsimile sleeves in a slip case, cut from the original analogue tapes, with an 8-page booklet of archive photographs, manuscript pages and notes by Paul Griffiths.
