Kristallisationen is a rare solo statement from Klaus Roeder, a classically trained composer and guitarist who famously played with Kraftwerk during their formative years. Roeder’s roots in the German avant-garde are deep: he studied with Karlheinz Stockhausen and has long been associated with the Cologne scene that birthed Cluster, Can, and Neu!. On this LP, Roeder manipulates guitar and electronics to create crystalline textures and shimmering drones. The music is both rigorous and playful, blending the structural clarity of minimalism with the exploratory freedom of improvisation.
Kristallisationen is a bridge between the worlds of academic electroacoustic music and the kosmische tradition, appealing to fans of early Kraftwerk, Morton Subotnick, and the more experimental side of ECM Records.
