British musician David Toop (born in 1949), who has been carrying out important activities as a performer and writer since the 1970s, is a leading figure on the British experimental/improvised music scene. London-based cellist Ecka Mordecai released her first solo album, "Promise & Illusion" (Otoroku), in 2022. Christian Kobi, who lives in Spiegel, near Bern (Switzerland), is a sax player active on the experimental/improvised music scene. Kobi has carried out a number of tours in Japan, and visited the country in 2023 in a trio with Radu Malfatti and Klaus Filip.
On April 23, 2024, the trio of David Toop, Ecka Mordecai, and Christian Kobi appeared at Cafe OTO in London. This CD documents a performance (31 minutes 30 seconds) from that concert. Mordecai played cello, and Kobi, soprano and tenor sax, while Toop produced sound using a variety of objects. Throughout the performance, the disparate sounds of the three musicians intertwine in an organic way, resulting in improvised music of outstanding quality.
