Lost at Sea
Recital is joyed to bring to you the new Idea Fire Company album, Lost at Sea. Lost At Sea imagines the Idea Fire Company as the bar band on a small cruise ship. There are approximately 40 passengers aboard. Around 2/3 of them are in the lounge for the nightly IFCO performance. Most of them seem more interested in drink than in music. The ship has become lost and seems to be endlessly circling. Well stocked with booze and food, etc., the ship continues on. IFCO, armed with only a piano and…
Fifteen Saxophones
First ever CD reissue of this little known classic from founding Philip Glass Ensemble member Richard 'Dickie' Landry. Following two jazz LPs issued on the Chatham Square label (which he co-ran), Dickie Landry released Fifteen Saxophones, a set of 1974 recordings done with engineer Kurt Munkacsi, on the Northern Lights and Wergo labels in 1978. Fifteen Saxophones simultaneously demonstrates Landry's boundary-pushing saxophone and his understanding of the minimalists' long-form treatises on sound…
Flying Basket
Flying Basket is a double album of avant jazz, discord and deconstructed rock by five master practitioners. It also marks the debut collaboration by a pair of Japan's legendary transgressors  -- saxophonist Akira Sakata and noise pioneer Masami Akita, aka Merzbow. For the past ten years Sakata has rededicated himself to fiery free jazz alongside guitarist Jim O’Rourke and the monstrous rhythm section that is Chikamorachi -- Chris Corsano (drums) and Darin Gray (double bass, percussion). Sakata's…
Different Forces
“Different Forces” is the second album by Hamburg-based duo Phantom Horse, following their self-titled album debut on Dekorder. These polyrhythmic vehicles are driven under the influence of Cluster and Harmonia, that venerable school of out-there German explorers; the tuneful ghost of Moondog can also be seen on the rear-view mirror, while the landscape rushes by with the hypnotic pulse of 1960’s Minimalism. Packed in their distinct homelike, warm sound, Phantom Horse effortlessly follo…
Chain of Flowers
Emerging from the murk and dirt of their home in Cardiff, Wales, Chain of Flowers reveal their long-awaited debut album. Recorded at Monnow Valley Studio in Wales, Chain of Flowers is a dense eight-track opus of heavy shoegaze sonics and urgent post-punk. The band's razor-sharp attention to classic songwriting nous means the record dips and dives between euphoric, hazy melody ("Glimmers of Joy") and overwhelming gloom ("Bury My Love"), all while retaining a breathless pace. Lead track "Crisi…
Mnemosyne
Berlin-based Italian/Belgian duo Lumisokea present Mnemosyne, shedding the bass-heavy rollers found on 2014's Apophenia (Opal), and welcoming space and tension into the fold. Most of the groundwork for the record was made during a week-long residency the duo (comprised of Andrea Taeggi and  Koenraad Ecker) rimprovised with a collection of synthesizers from the '60s and '70s at the Worm studio in Rotterdam; edited and combined the resultant sound with heavily-processed recordings of gamelan bell…

Pondfire
“I grew up on my grandfather's farm in the Muddy Creek basin of North Carolina. My grandfather was Hubert James Slater and was the most important man in my life. As an interesting coincidence we share the same birthday, June 8th. Living on the farm was extremely hard work but at the same time an amazing place to grow up, there were animals of all types and acres and acres of space where two young brothers could very easily find trouble to get into. My favorite place on the farm was the pon…
Turiya
Adamennon started in 2006, as a black ambient project, a tribute to the french scene of "Les Legions Noires". His sounds was a blend of black metal sonorities from the early nineties and the most obscure dark ambient, drone and industrial sounds. In 2012 he self-released what can be considered his final evolution in sound from this period: MMXII.The album is different from any previous and it's totally inspired by italian musicians like Goblin, Jacula or composers Fabio Frizzi and Walter Rizzati.…
Modern / Antique
Outstanding!!! New project, old friends: Everest Magma is the latest incarnation of the hypher-profilic man behind Rella the Woodcutter, that has already a number of releases on our label. In recent years he put aside his pshych-folk attitude and put his hands on a bunch of machines, tape recorders and pedal effects. The results confirm the guy’s gifted by an above the average inspiration and desire to push towards the extreme borders of any matter he tries to confront with. Modern / Anti…
A mist is a collection of points
Michael Pisaro (b. 1961) is a member of the Wandelweiser collective, an international organization of musicians which he has defined as 'a particular group of people who have been committed, over the long term, to sharing their work and working together.' Its members have shared an interest in John Cage and experimental music, and extended durations, indeterminacy, and silence have featured in many works they have made; but Michael Pisaro is quick to point out that the members of the colle…

Knerpen! (bevel)
Antwerp-based nonconformist Dennis Tyfus debuts on PAN under his Vom Grill moniker with the Knerpen! (bevel) LP. Tyfus's dealings in unstable media -- spanning paintings and illustrations, films, radio transmissions and more -- reflect the freeform, sometimes parodic nature of his sonic output, which has been archived on his own Ultra Eczema imprint alongside many outsider, weirdo, and noise underground artists. Knerpen! (bevel) is a jarring collage of skewed electronics, tape loops, and tr…
Safe
140-gram LP version. Having partnered with Bill Kouligas in 2015 to relaunch his Lost Codes imprint as Codes, Visionist takes a defining step forward with the release of his debut album, Safe. The South London artist born Louis Carnell broke during a period of experimentation in UK music when, with the disintegration of the dubstep scene, emerging producers began looking to juke and Chicago house for inspiration. A pair of EPs on Lit City Trax (and a collaboration with Fatima Al Qadiri) in 20…
The Way Out (1979)

The Way Out is recommended for fans of Desperate Bicycles, This Heat and Mark Perry."The start of recording The Way Out crossed over with the last days of my involvement with the Homosexuals. Lovely as they were, the guys were demanding unswerving, vanilla rock 'n' roll fealty from me – something I just couldn't provide given my need to taste e…

Cycles ranges from saxophone-controlled feedback walls of free-noise to the meditative sounds of sine waves.
Aurore
Penultimate Press presents the first release in a three-part series based around the four field-recording-based works made between 1990 and 1994 by the legendary French act Étant Donnés (brothers Eric and Marc Hurtado, born 1959 and 1962 respectively in Rabat, Morocco). Aurore opens the triptych and is made from ambient sounds collected like dew from nature. The gathered sounds were then used as a sound texture for the poems strewn among the field resulting in a single entity of arresting sound …
