Issue 79 of Musicworks, from spring 2001, has articles on Barry Truax, the sound artist Jacky Mérit, the pianist Paul Plimley and the sound poet Jaap Blonk, plus the first part of Lowell Cross's memoir of David Tudor for his 75th anniversary and the column of Udo Kasemets.
The CD opens with Truax's Androgyne, mon amour, played by the double bassist Robert Black at the 1998 International Computer Music Conference in Ann Arbor. Blonk's Labior was recorded live in Berlin in October 2000, and he returns with the Dutch trio Braaxtaal. Plimley closes with two pieces for piano and loops, with Martin Gotfrit on live processing.
